Description
Experienced auto damage appraiser needed to work York County, Maine and Rockingham, Strafford and Carroll Counties in New Hampshire. A minimum of two years experience working as an auto damage appraiser or in a body shop is required.
This is a part time position to help during busy periods. Busy periods are the summer months and the period between Thanksgiving and New Years. You should be available to work during the day, Monday through Friday.
Very good flexibility in your schedule is a must. Your ability to “turn around” assignments is key. You should be able to receive assignments in the late afternoon or early evening, and be able to inspect the vehicle the following day. The appraisal should be written the same day as the inspection.
It is required that you have a personal computer with e-mail and internet capabilities, a digital camera and a fax machine. Good computer skills are needed. A reliable vehicle is required. You should be able to be trained in the changes and advances in automotive technology and collision repair.
There is potential that this position could lead to a rewarding, full time job for the right person. It may be possible to expand this appraisal business into other counties in Maine.
The work would be performed on a contract labor basis. A flat fee of $40.00 per appraisal would be paid. An additional $10.00 would be paid for each day assignments are sent to help cover the cost of gas.
No guarantees on how many assignments would be sent. It all depends on claim volume.
